Dreaming of a Hot Summer Day

Hi!! This is my vampire character Olivia Black when she was a little girl and when she was still living in Australia. She is supposed to be about 11-12 in this pic. This picture was sort of inspired from my childhood. I lived on a large property in Adelaide and even though there were houses right next to us, we were surrounded by bush land, especially at the back (it looked a lot like this, too! ). I used to spend my summers running around wearing nothing but shorts and T-shirt (I had yellow ones jut like these! ) and with no shoes on, catching butterflies. I caught lots of skinks too!

This is my first time I have ever painted in digital water colours! It was quite a challenge too, it's not nearly as simple or easy as painting in real water colours I can tell you that one!! I really struggled with this, especially the sky and the big tree. The background still looks kinda dorky, but since it's my first water colour drawing I'm going to leave it as it is. Over all, I'm quite pleased with it, especially Olivia herself and what's she is holding!

No DA refs used. I couldn't find the right sort if refs or from the right angles, so I took my own. I drew her right arm (our left, of course!) hand from a pic I taken of my hand holding a container of Tiramisu dessert which I just finished eating at the time! And I drew her left arm (our right, drrrrrr!) from a pic I taken of my other arm holding my pocket torch!
